The Challenge

The Tillamook River Bridge was recently repainted as part of a preservation effort to extend its service life while maintaining its scenic setting. Spanning the Tillamook River, the bridge crosses a wide waterway framed by coastal forests and wetlands. The project included removal of aging coatings and application of a new protective system to guard against corrosion and environmental exposure.

Why Wasser

As a vital transportation link in Tillamook, Oregon, spanning the scenic Tillamook River and its surrounding coastal wetlands. The bridge carries daily vehicle traffic and is exposed to moisture, salt air, and changing weather conditions typical of the Oregon coast. These conditions make long-term corrosion protection essential for durability and public safety, while preserving the bridge’s appearance within its natural setting.

Wasser's Solution

Wasser supplied a straightforward, high-performance coating system to protect the Tillamook River Bridge from corrosion in a harsh coastal environment. Following removal of the existing coatings, the new system was applied to provide long-term resistance to moisture, salt air, and weather exposure. The solution was selected to extend the service life of the bridge while maintaining a consistent, durable finish appropriate for its location and daily traffic demands.
