The Hood Canal Bridge presented a unique maintenance challenge due to its floating concrete pontoon design and constant exposure to a harsh marine environment. Components of the structure, including steel elements and mechanical systems, are subjected to saltwater, moisture, and continuous movement, accelerating corrosion and wear. The project required a coating system capable of providing long-term protection while being applied efficiently within ongoing maintenance operations.
