The Challenge

At the Dominion Energy facility in West Virginia, exposed structural steel and piping required protection against corrosion driven by moisture, temperature swings, and industrial exposure. Maintaining coating performance on complex steel assemblies while minimizing long-term maintenance was a key priority.

Why Wasser

Wasser was selected for its multi-layer system designed for industrial durability. MC-Miozinc 100 provides strong zinc-rich corrosion protection, while MC-Miomastic 100 builds film thickness and surface tolerance. The MC-Luster 100 Aluminum topcoat delivers added weather resistance and a uniform metallic finish suited for high-exposure environments.

Wasser's Solution

The system included MC-Miozinc 100 primer at 3–5 mils DFT, followed by MC-Miomastic 100 at 3–5 mils DFT, and finished with MC-Luster 100 Aluminum at 2–4 mils DFT. This combination created a robust, layered barrier that protects steel from corrosion, enhances durability, and provides a consistent, professional appearance across the facility.
